Fibres made from recycled plastic
Made without PFAs
To ensure that children can still enjoy being outdoors even in the rain and wet weather, our water-repellent and waterproof products are specially designed for this purpose.
Since 2018, we have been using BIONIC-FINISH® ECO from the Rudolf Group for this. The formula is fluorine-free, meaning that no per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) are used in the waterproofing process.
How does the finish work? Highly branched, hydrophobic polymers arrange themselves on the surface of the fibres and become anchored there. This allows water to bead up and roll off the fabric. According to the manufacturer, the water-repellent finish remains effective for up to 20 wash cycles at 30 °C.
It can then be renewed using a suitable wash-in impregnation treatment.
Organic Cotton
Some of our products contain organically grown cotton. Organic farming does not involve the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, nor does it involve the use of genetically modified organisms. Instead, methods such as crop rotation and composting are used, amongst others. The proportion of organic cotton is stated for each product.
GOTS certification
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world's leading standard for the processing of textiles made from natural fibres and covers the production, packaging, labelling, trade and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70 percent certified organic fibres. These fibers are grown according to the principles of organic farming, which means that no synthetic pesticides, insecticides, herbicides or genetic engineering are used in their production. In addition, GOTS also includes environmental and social criteria within the entire textile production and supply chain.
Mulesing-free merino wool
We take great care to ensure that our merino wool only comes from suppliers who do not practice mulesing. We obtain the relevant certificates from our suppliers to confirm this. Mulesing is a method designed to minimize the risk of fly maggot infestation on the hindquarters of sheep. This area of the body is particularly susceptible due to the folds of skin there. During mulesing, the wrinkled skin is cut off without anaesthetic, which is extremely painful for the sheep.
Laboratory tests for pollutants
To ensure compliance with all legal regulations and to be certain that our products do not contain any health-relevant parameters, we have them tested at regular intervals by independent laboratories and testing institutes such as the Bremen Environmental Institute, TÜV Rheinland or SGS.
Sustainable packaging
Our commitment to sustainability is evident in every step of our shipping process. Our shipping bags are made from 50% recycled material and are 100% recyclable. This allows us to actively reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources and minimise our ecological footprint. Our shipping boxes are also made from recycled material and are FSC certified. This ensures the sustainable management of forests. With our focus on environmentally friendly packaging solutions, we not only want to deliver high-quality products, but also make a positive contribution to protecting our planet.
